Day 3 - Patagonia Argentina

Glacier Perito Moreno

A fabulous day viewing the glacier.

On the way we stopped to see the greater Rhea, the South American version of the ostrich. See picture below. Also a brief shower on the way, that produced a lovely rainbow.

Then to see the glacier. Lots of views from a distance, from the boat, then walking a path across the water from the glacier. It is huge - with no visible end. We heard and saw lots of calving - sounds like sonic thunder!

Patagonia is a beautiful part of Argentina. Words hardly do it justice. Parts reminds you of a high desert; others areas similar to Glacier National Park.

It was chilly today due the 30+ mph wind; temperature in the 50s.
